Just thought I'd make a quick post for the guys interested that PureSim 2 is now available from our website. If you want to see some screens and download the game to try out the free demo just go to
Wolverine Studios Lots more info in our forums as well - Shaun and Steven "CrashDavis" are already hard at work on their first batch of free post-release updates Shaun is ever so famous for. |

I'm game. I'll give it a try. Will gladly post some feedback here as well. Don't have the other versions of this game to compare it to though.

TONS of improvements since the freeware 1.86 version and Shaun is allowing 2.14 to be tested even if you are using the demo.
He's really cleaned up the interface, the AI is much tighter, added a bunch of new things like "game preview" before a game.. and basically has PS 2 playing a fun game of baseball. Head on over to Wolverine Studios and give it a try... lots of great text sim people on FOFC. |

How about a little PureSim 2 update before the World Series? Actually, its more like a huge PS2 update...Shaun really went to work adding in new things, most impressively the 2009 season stats - and its a totally free upgrade of course to those who purchased PureSim 2. One baseball sim gets $30 for just a season disk so Shaun really has added a great deal of value with this update. There's over a dozen things he's tweaked or flat out added with this update as well as a few bug fixes. Feel free to check it out.

A quick afternoon bump for anyone who didn't see my early, early morning posting on this matter. Really a nice update to the game especially since you get another season of stats in there.

2009 Stats are included in the demo BTW. Also added some great new UI features with the best being "PlayerTips" which are rich tool tips that display when you hover over a player's name anywhere in the game.
Here are a few screen shots. BTW, the game doesn't include logos or player photos, I grabbed those from PadresFan's PureSim mod site. http://puresimmer.squarespace.com/st...s/betas/m1.jpg |

I think I see a bug in that last screenshot. David Dejesus is leading the league in batting average. As a Royals fan, I can confirm that's simply not possible.

Hope we can get some new folks trying out the game now that the update is out. Now it really feels like PureSim 2.

With PureSim, can I have a league start in 1871 with fictional players and teams. Then have another league start up in 1877 and have free agents move between the leagues?

i'm still needing to pick the game back up - i got frustrated with my whole historical league and the schedule thing and having to go in and manually rename all of the teams in the retrosheet schedules

Sorry no, PureSim doesn't support the "Single Universe - Multiple Leagues" scenario. Each Association is it's own entity, with 3 levels of minors if you choose to use them. |

Does the 2009 Season include minor league players or just 40 man rosters? |

One clarification, unfortunately I didn't include the ability to create 2009 replays in the demo version. I thought I did, but alas they didn't make it in.
They will show up if you have the full version. No this isn't a ploy Maybe I'll patch them into the demo soon as well. Sorry about that. |

Mizz I know you have been a player of this one for long time. What do you like most about this new version compared to the free version. Do you like it more than baseball mogul? Last edited by Galaril : 10-27-2009 at 01:27 PM. |

I don't even play baseball mogul anymore. Shaun has done some great things with PS 2 vs 1.86 - the interface has been tweaked to be easier on the eyes, he has fixed numerous bugs/errors, added new things like preview, and has tightened up things like pitcher endurance, etc.. I bought PS 2 to support Shaun, and honestly, he's done more in the last week than I thought he would do so quickly. It can only improve though and I'd like to see the trade AI worked on a bit in the future - but as a GM sim (the way I play), it's been a blast to play. I also love the ease of use... just like BM - but with much more to offer. |
