FOOL: Which Jersey would Mike Hensley wear into the Hall of Fame?
If Mike Hensley ended up being elected into the FOOL Hall of Fame, which jersey should he wear?
Lets assume that everyone agrees his years with Apex, Chico and Baltimore were not significant enough for consideration. The choice comes down to Montreal where he began his career and played his prime, or Boston where he became a legend.
He never won a FOOL Championship, was an All star with both teams and won both of his Prado awards with Boston even though he arguably pitched better his seasons in Montreal, just without as many saves. Last edited by Alan T : 09-23-2009 at 04:38 PM. |

The Prado awards were the key in my vote.

To me, where he came up, spent the longest and dominated first is his premier team. But then, I am an Angels fan and am still bitter Nolan Ryan went into the Hall as a frickin' Ranger.

Montreal...
The Prado's sure look nice, but the meat of his dominant innings were pitched in a Majestic uniform.

Its not even close in my mind. He best years werent even in a Boston Uniform. So if thats the case the awards to me dont really mean a whole lot.
He pitched more often in Montreal and had better stats. Add together his holds plus his saves the years he was in Montreal and you have the exact same numbers or damn near close his saves total in Boston. |

I'm not seeing a huge stat difference between Montreal and Boston. He had his 2 best years WHIP wise with Boston and plus the Hall of Fame places a lot of emphasis on winning, well maybe not OOTP HOF Either way I was just glad to have this guy on my team as he certainly helped with the victories in Boston.

To me, the fact that he pitched more years in Montreal and had success and rose to prominence there makes him a HoF guy in Montreal. That said, personality reasons might make him want to wear a Boston uniform, say if he had a falling out with the team there, coupled with his two Prado awards he won would tip the scales to Boston. But save for that? Montreal.

What's weird is this kind of reminds me of Andre Dawson when he gets into the HOF. What cap is he going to wear?
