We had one or two develop in Bismarck when I was there. They are very weak when compared to normal tornadoes but look pretty similar. The ones that I saw only briefly touched down and caused more of a stir than any damage.

The fam and I drove through Western Indiana on 74 this afternoon and the clouds were very strange looking. It actually made for some interesting scenery for once.
I've seen weak little water spouts on Lake Erie quite often, I wonder if these cold air funnels are similar. |
