oooo. We have our first fatality of the Dola Leeg, as EF loses a Blitzer in the last turn of the game.
Not a good first game for EF, but this is why it's a fun league. Now... anyone want to get DWARF SMASHed?

After that difficult start, we finally got the game going. I forgot the dice and it was a massacre literally. My blitzer was killed on the last turn. Of course, even if I remembered everything, I'm sure KWhit would have beaten me. Good game and like I said, good luck the rest of the season.
I'll hopefully have a better showing against my next opponent. |

That was fun after we got through with all the set up stuff. I have really missed playing this.
Sorry about your Blitzer, EF. |

As a guy whose only real exposure to Blood Bowl was the original Dragon Magazine version, I am really looking forward to this. We do need to decide if the league will be PC or 360 though before I buy it.

Good interview.
They talk a lot about Chaos league, their Blood Bowl clone released a few years ago. How good was that game? anybody tried it?

Never played it, but it reviewed fairly well. I've read 2 reviews and both gave it a score in the mid 7s and the average user score on gamespot is 7.8. |

Yeah i have been reading some reviews and are favorable, but i have read that it doesn't have a real turns based mode, just real time or paused real time, that is why i would like anybody who has played it to confirm it. I want it turn based as the tabletop one.

I agree. It was a good interview. It really sounds and looks promising.

Chaos League was OK, but grew stale after awhile as the gameplay was very same-y. Still, it got a few weeks of pretty hardcore play out of me.

I'm having trouble downloading the pdf with the rules on bloodbowlonline. Is there another place they're listed, or can someone email me the pdf file if they have it? I'm trying to figure out what skill to give my skaven storm vermin.

That seems like a lot. I don't remember what all I have, but I'm not sure if I have 2.0 shaders or 2.4 ghz CPU. |

One good measure is that most games target top-of-the-line systems from 2 years ago, as those will be mainstream when you're game is actually shipping. 3GHz P4, 512MB RAM, 256MB shader model 2.0 graphics card are older than that (that's like 4 years ago, and it stayed pretty standard for around 2 years). Because of the multi-processor nature of the consoles and the drop-in-price / standardization on PC, it won't be long before dual-core is a minimum. One thing that burns folks is that the 3GHz PC was a staple for far longer than is typical, so even those older 2-2.4GHz machines could run most games. But now that the multicore processors are prevalent and standard on even low-end machines, those boxes will need upgrades to keep up with modern games. Keeping in mind that a decent Core i7 upgrade (without monitor/keyboard/mouse) will set you back a bit over $1200 right now, and that's dropping fast. So those are actually pretty generous min specs for a modern game.
