Is there anything more beautiful than a perfectly sharpened pencil?

I think not.

Working Christmas Eve sucks.

I actually like the perfectly sharpened pencil the best after using it for a minute - the lead is still pretty large but it's just begun to get flat and smooth on the end. It still writes sharply but it glides across the paper.

Is that what you had in mind for the thread?

In grade school, I stabbed someone in the hand with a perfectly sharpened pencil. I'm assuming it was perfectly sharpened based on the amount of blood that was on the floor after he ran to the nurse's office.

Not to diminish your pain, but it is surely better than being unemployed on Christmas Eve. Always be sure to keep track of how blessed you are, particularly at this time of year, when many people tend towards melancholy.

People still use pencils? Pencils that require sharpening?

Wow.

Sorry you had to work on Christmas Eve, Schmidty.

Dola.

It wasn't so bad really. I did nothing other than listen to Coast to Coast AM, play BBCF, and Oblivion for 8 hours, ad still got paid.

The bad part is that I got home with my kid at the door wanting to open presents, and make cinnamon rolls. I took an hour and a half nap at like 11 am, but then stayed up until 10 pm or so.

Overall, it was a great day. I must say that the Prime Rib Roast I made was fabulous. Made a good sandwiches today too.

I will tell you what is more beautiful than a perfectly sharpened pencil: The look on face of the user of the perfectly sharpened pencil, when they sit down and begin using it and the lead snaps.
