new computer probs plus electric question

My dad got a new xps computer and it apparently has 64 bit IE installed. I guess that flash player doesn't work for 64 bit yet. So a lot of the streaming radio sites he likes aren't working for him. I played around for an hour or so yesterday and I can't figure out how to get it to launch the 32 bit version or to downgrade. Google searches weren't much help. Its a new studio xps dell. Firefox works fine for this stuff spp I did install it for him. But my dad just likes IE better. Any help? I don't think this is as simple as just pointing all the IE icons to a different file? This computer is total overkill for him but he likes his stuff to be viable for 5 years

Also we are running into power problems. I assume this beast uses hella electricity as compared to his last one. We probably need to run another dedicated circuit? There's one in the basement I could easily bring up for a new outlet but I'm not sure if it would be code.

Found this on a quick google search:

For Vista (64 bit):
1. Open Computer.
2. Navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.
3. Scroll down and open the Macromed directory.
4. Open the Flash directory.
5. Right-click FlashUtil9b.
6. Select Run as Administrator.
7. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.
8. Follow the Flash Player installation wizard.
Once the wizard completes, Flash Player has been properly installed and will now function properly.

Not sure if that will help or not.

As for power, it should be plugged into a surge protector.. probably by itself, and then into the wall. I don't think it would need its own circuit though.

THX. Will try that. Kind of a frustrating problem that it wouldn't work out of the box.

The computer has enough juice but the tube TV, cable modem, speaker system, router and VCR is too much it seems.

I have the 32 bit version of IE installed on my 64 bit Vista system. I think you just need to look in Program Files (x86)

That sounds about right.. I think those XPS systems push about 750W out of those power supplies.

I Found that but direct launching didn't seem to work. I may try it again.
