EBM Sports: Football - Development Blog

Hi guys!

I wanted to drop a note to the forum to announce that I've started a development blog for a future football text sim simply titled EBM Sports: Football. You can find the first entry by visiting my site at http://www.ebmsports.com

As you will see from the blog, the expected release date for the game isn't until next year, but since I've already put in four months of work on the sim engine and am moving onto other parts of the game, I felt that it would be in my best interests to publically detail the design and development process. By doing this, I feel that I can solicit comments and suggestions from the public along the way and have your opinions influence the direction of development. If you have an interest in following along, I encourage you check in every week and take part in the discussion.

Thanks,
Todd

You saved yourself with the "(VPI97)" line. I was about to rip you a new one.

Good luck on the game's development!

If you have never been to IHOF or GEFL, check out the almanac's there. Those are works of art that should give you a sense for the attention to detail that Todd is capable of delivering.

I was concerned with Todd's project being overwelmed by his work and real life, but 4 months of work has already been done says that this project could very well become reality.

Good luck, Todd, the text-sim community is pulling for ya!

Good luck on the game's development!

My thoughts exactly. If it was right or wrong I don't know, but I was kind of offended some jackass would come on here and post this. Then I saw it was VPI and it all went away. Very cool VPI, best of luck.

This isn't just any run-o-the-mill forum lurker (i.e. me) coming out with news of an upcoming sports sim.. this is the legendary VPI... very promising indeed

Looks very interesting.. I was wondering, on the site you're talking about having college and high-school "modules" as a future concept.. does this mean that you would, possibly, be able to run all "levels" in the same universe? i.e. no separate games, with import/export files back and forth, but a common database?

I remember when you made an Almanac for FOF 2K1. I was also briefly in the GEFL. You have a lot of skills, and great ideas. I will be following this project closely.
