Jacuzzi and Security System
I have two unrelated questions...
1. The place I moved into has a jacuzzi tub as the main bath tub. I tried it out, and there's these two knobs that change the way water is jetted out from the left and right sides. It seems to go from a hard jetted stream, to a lighter bubbly stream... is this all there is to it? Also, there is some circle thing on the side of the rub (on the inside)... what is this? 2. My security system was beeping (not going off, just beeping) this morning. The error code is something to do with being unable to call out using the phone line. The solution in the manual is to call the service company. Two problems: I don't have it monitored yet, and I don't have a land line. I pressed some Bypass button and the beeping stopped, but the error code is still there... any idea what I can do? Just not use it? |

It doesn't seem like the security system is going to do a whole lot of good without a land line? Perhaps the idea would be that it would scare the burglar off, but it won't call emergency services.
As for how to stop the beeping, it probably depends on the make/model of the box.

Yeah I don't have it connected yet to emergency services, and I don't plan to until next year. I guess I need to google the make/model and see if there's answers out there.

Couldn't you just call the service company (likely Triple A or whatever) and ask them how to make it stop? Just explain that you will be getting a landline soon and will be hooking it up then (whether you intend to do that or not) and I'm sure they'll help you out as long as it doesn't involve a house call.

Post the make and model.
It will require a program change. If we can get in it I can talk you through bypassing the call out feature until you are ready to monitor it. Some companies use an installer lock out code that if we can not figure out will not be able to be programmed. But most you can get in through the master code. so give me some detailss Ill hook ya up If its a Brinks system, you can not change it without a hand held programmer. Any otheer system you can program through a key pad. Last edited by CU Tiger : 10-22-2008 at 04:20 PM. |

Thanks CU, I'll post it later tonight when I get home. Is Honeywell a make or is that a security provider? That name rings a bell for me.

yep honeywell is a make....they have a few different models. If you are unsure open the box in the closet and see if there is a sticker on the board. |

Ok, I have the manual... Honeywell ADEMCO LYNXR-EN is what it says. There's also this other text on the bottom of the manual that says "K5964V3 5/04 Rev. A" but that might be the manual revision or something?

Ok Lynx it is (or should be) a full wireless system.
First you need to get into program mode. There are 2 program modes - one called expert the other voice guided. Voice guided is appropriate here from a keypad enter (4112) 888 [4112 is the default installer code. if the original installation company changed that it will make life harder but we can bypass that as well just let me know] From here on you will be programming the panel. We need to clear the values in fields 41,42 and 43 (the reporting phone numbers) Key *41 This will take you to field 41 or central station #1 phone number. Enter a * to delete all entries. Next *42 * then *43 * finally verify you got those cleared by viewing the locations #41 #42 #43 All should be blank Next exit programming by keying *99 Allow the system to burn in for 30-45 seconds Then enter your master code and [OFF] twice so MC[off], mc[off] to clear all faults |

Dola
I'm just gonna put this out there, but the results of a Google Image Search for "electric wizard" were unexpected. Especially number 3.
