Well it will be nice to still have elite pitchers, just not everyone with starters 1 through 3 elite pitchers. Got to mix the Tim Wakefields in too! |

Wow, 25 HRs and 96 RBIs led the CL this year in power numbers.

Ok, one last look at pitching stats:
Baltimore's team ERA this year (2.70) is the lowest in the modern FOOL era. They had one of only 7 sub-3.0 seasons on record:
... Of course, the undisputed champions of pitching would be the early St Louis Terriers. 1963 St Louis (2.99) 1964 St Louis (2.55) 1965 St Louis (2.67) What were you putting in those boys' water, DC?

Those teams were absolutely stacked. Why do you think I broke them up? Sure they lost more Classics than they won, but that's owing more to my bad skills (not taking anything away from '65 New York, tho..) than it does how good they were assembled. They had no hitting talent on balance, but man they could pitch their asses off.

I'll never have anything like that. That team was just downright legendary. I feel like Joe Torre in New York. I had to leave to prove I was a good manager. But that team was just nuts. After a decade in Chicago doing the highs and the lows, I found my chops, but...it taught me how luxurious it was to run a team like that one. Man, it was like autopilot. Every season was "ok, which amazing guy is gonna start today?"

It looks like, at the age of 37, Anthony "Blanks" Zijm has given in to his age and started his final decline:
This makes me sad. |

Ahh I dont think I out managed you at all, im not sure what the heck went on to be honest. My starters went from getting rocked the first 4 games to settling down a little bit more (not much), and the game started to do funky stuff on both sides of the ball for both of us. You guys had more than a few questionable errors, especailly on the last play of game 9 where they didnt throw home (you got hosed on that play) and then with me I cant tell you how many times my number 3,4,5 hitters with runners on base would bunt the damn ball.... What i really cant figure out is how ive managed to put together a heck of a starting roation the past 3 years, and they do awesome in the regular season, but when it comes down to classic time, they give up 7 and 8 runs per outing....thats starting to get annoying. Hopefully that trend doesnt continue this time around... |

Well, it seems that my offseason emphasis on finding pitching, paid off. As mentioned above, I had a franchise best ever ERA, and the only real sore spot was my closer, who blew 9 saves and had a much-too-high- WHIP and BRA/9. Conley will be shuffled back and closer will be a need for the 80s.
On the other hand, my offense, 2 years ago a powerhouse, declined last year and was an absolute disaster this past year. Waller was alone with only Black, a popgun hitter, doing much beyond him. Waller will be moving down my lineup next year, probably into the 3 hole. While not an important piece, Shultz was a monster failure, failing to hit a single HR in 100 AB. He wants to be a FA, good luck with that.

Baltimore had 3 different pitchers hit home runs this year?
You got it all going in Gotham Field. |

I dont have access to the league file. When I updated it last night, it crashed OOTP and this morning it would still crash it. I redownloaded the initial file, but it says there isn't a file to update

Have you updated to 9.2.2? A few of us had that problem last night. This was the first sim DC upgraded for. Come up to the latest version, and then manually grab the league file here. |

I didnt even have to manually grab the new file. After I upgraded to the newest patch the game loaded up fine with no problems for me. |

Mr.Bug since your other league isn't upgrading till the end of the season, you may want to not do the auto-upgrade executable and instead use two sets of executables. This only effects you since you run a different league. Anyone else who simply is in multiple leagues can still be fine after upgrading normally.

Since I can't stand either team, I hope everyone in the building gets a bad cold, except for you and your family, and Joe Sakic.
