Fantasy Football Trade Advice
Sorries...
Team is willing to part with Steve Smith (Carolina) for John Stewart/Chris Johnson and Eagles defense. My team is: QB - Cutler RB - Addai RB - Lynch WR - Andre Johnson WR - Brandon Marshall TE - Cooley Bench - John Stewart, Chris Johnson, Anthony Gonzales, M. Colston, Cassel Now I only can start two receivers...but this is an eight team league (no PPR), and having Smith allows for solid depth and possible trades in the future. Would most of you pull the trigger or figure it leaves me too lean on running back (he's got Ryan Grant, Jamal Lewis, Kevin Smith and Fred Taylor). Any help is appreciated...

I'll just piggy back on the first thread I see. Was offered this today:
Send Chris Johnson, Ten RB Send DeSean Jackson, Phi WR Send Jake Delhomme, Car QB Receive Peyton Manning, Ind QB Receive Vincent Jackson, SD WR My starting QB is Derek Anderson, and starting WRs are Reggie Wayne and Santonio Holmes (with Eddie Royal also on the bench). Starting RBs are Addai and Johnson, with Selvin Young, Fred Taylor, ad Andre Hall on the bench. Getting Manning to connect with Wayne would be cool, but I think I'd be screwing myself in the RB department don't you think? |

I'm never a fan of having both a QB and his receiver. Every time their team has a bad game, you almost assuredly lose your fantasy week.

Thanks. I feel like I should trade my somewhat depth at WR. I was doomed in this league from the start... had a high pick but traded my 1st rounder. So 22 players were picked, plus two keepers for each team, before I got my first selection. So I ended up having to gamble on almost every player, and it's why my depth isn't good. I'm hoping for Delhomme to step it up with Smith back, or Anderson to wake up...

I don't do that trade. You would have Manning, Wayne and Addai.. .with the struggles of the Colts O-line right now, I'm not sold on them the early part of this year and that just seems like you are setting yourself up to potentially have a very bad week.
Not to mention, I like Chris Johnson anyways so... I'd stay pat

I like Chris Johnson too.
Btw I didn't trade with the guy, but he then traded Boldin for Willie Parker to the guy who has Barber and Gore as running backs, Fitzgerald as his other WR, and Brees as his QB. I think the league is lost. I should have done the trade just to block something like this.

I have 2 trades right now, and they both are pretty tempting.
My team is: QB - Delhomme WR- Calvin Johnson WR- Anthony Gonzalez WR - Devry Henderson RB - Adrian Peterson RB- Edgerrin James TE - Jeremy Shockey Palmer, Colston, Ricky Williams, Reggie Brown (PHI), and Anthony Fasano are the backups. I'm getting offered Santana Moss, and Julius Jones for Adrian Peterson in the first deal. The second deal is Thomas Jones and Phillip Rivers for Adrian Peterson. Any ideas?

Trade 1 - Never trade Adrian Peterson
Trade 2 - Never trade Adrian Peterson Drop Reggie Brown and get any free agent receiver that's viable. Delhomme is going to do better with Steve Smith back. Never trade Adrian Peterson

You gotta weather the storm. How big is the league? What are the points? What free agents are out there. Adrian and Calvin are your foundations. If you trade Adrian it's for a guy like Westbrook. Julius Jones was RBBC (while promising nowhere near AP) and Thomas Jones doesn't have the upside. If anything AP is going to keep you in games - all four of the players you got offered won't singlehandly keep you competitve until Colston comes back and Palmer returns to some decent form. Now don't hesistate to bring in another QB if you don't trust Delhomme but I think he improves with Steve Smith back. Palmer is shaky but not droppable, should he return to some servicable form, he's definately valuable.

How did I make out in this trade? I traded Eli Manning and Chris Perry for Ben Roethlisberger and Owen Daniels. The other owner is really high on Aaron Rodgers and wanted more depth at running back, so that's why he accepted the trade I think.
There are 14 teams in the league. League settings are 1 point per 50 yards passing, 1 point per 20 yards receiving/rushing, 6 points for all touchdowns, .5 points per reception and -2 points for interceptions/fumbles lost. We start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 DEF. We are allowed to keep three players each year. There are no limits for how many players you can keep at any one position My roster after the trade: QB: Jay Cutler, Ben Roethlisberger RB: Joseph Addai, Reggie Bush, Chris Johnson, Matt Forte WR: Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Bowe, Matt Jones, Isaac Bruce, Marquis Colston TE: Owen Daniels, Dante Rosario K: Mason Crosby DEF: Buffalo Bills His Roster after the trade: QB: Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning RB: Brian Westbrook, Larry Johnson, Chris Perry, Chester Taylor, Derrick Ward WR: Greg Jennings, Roy Williams, Derrick Mason, Justin Gage, Greg Lewis TE: John Carlson K: John Carney DEF: New York Giants The reason why I made this trade is because I'd like to upgrade my #3 wide receiver (Dwayne Bowe) for a better wide receiver and the wide receivers I am targeting are on teams that are potentially weak at quarterback. I also was in desperate need for a tight end and I feel Owen Daniels should be a pretty good one in PPR leagues this year. |

It's week 2 going into week 3...kind of rushing it. Least it isn't bad as a team in my league trading Randy Moss for Desean Jackson...

Whichever side gets Forte and Bowe is the winner in that one I think. I like Forte over Turner.

Turner is going to see a lot of guys stacked in the box for the rest of this season. Expect his week 2 numbers to be more likely than his week 1 numbers.

Another offer...
Trade Maurice Jones-Drew, Jac RB Get Torry Holt, StL WR Get LenDale White, Ten RB My WR are Santonio Holmes, Jerricho Cotchery, and Eddie Royal... RB are Jones-Drew, Clinton Portis, and Ronnie Brown. I think this trade doesn't help me at all. I want to replace Jones-Drew because I think he's going to suck, but this doesn't seem to do much... |

I'm still believing that Jones-Drew will put up good numbers this year. LenDale White scares me this year with Johnson in the mix. He may get some goal-line carries, but Johnson is much more explosive and will probably start to get more of the carries. Holt would be nice when StL finally starts playing, but your WR squad isn't too bad already.

If it was me, I'd go Warner, however, Warner is always an injury away. Favre could lose his leg and still stay in the game.

Someone is trying to sell high on Addai and Housh right now - the way those four are playing, that someone is making out like a bandit.

Who else do you have? What is the point system? I like Lynch and I feel he'll do well against Oakland this weekend. Marshall is going to pop big too. I'd have to evaluate on who else I would have. I have Addai and Lynch on my team right now, with Marshall as my starting WR.

I'd probably go with Warner on this one. Washington looked good against the Saints, but Arizona's receivers are much better. SD hasn't been great so far, but I think their defense will do OK against NY. Now, I'll ask the same question but replace Favre with Cassel against Miami. QB: Cassel vs MIA or Warner vs Wash? |

Cassel vs. Miami, I think. He's got to start learning to use the weapons around him (particularly Moss) and this seems like a good chance.
I've got this quandry for anyone that has advice: Hasselbeck vs. St. Louis, Favre vs. San Diego, or Garrard vs. Indy (start 1) and S. Jackson vs. Seattle, Portis vs. Arizona, Jacobs vs. Cincy, Jones vs. St. Louis (start 2 and we are a PPR league) Thanks for any advice. Last edited by PurdueBrad : 09-19-2008 at 03:05 PM. |

Yeah, I would highly doubt that this would be accepted as well as Brees is ahead of Hasslebeck (particularly now that Matt has nobody around him) and I think Crayton is above Evans (even more so in a PPR). |

I don't trust Palmer vs Giants. Bulger could maybe do something, as can Campbell. I think Campbell.

jacobs vs Cincy for sure....it's a toss up between Jones or Jacskon for me, but I'd probally lean jones as the OL for St. Louis isn't great right now. I'd go Hasselbeck for the QB the other two will have much tougher defenses IMO (indy's is bound to have a good game at some point right) |

Okay, Packer fans... start Ryan Grant or Brandon Jackson this week? Grant is listed as probable, but I still expect Jackson to carry most of the load. Thoughts?
Also: Donnie McNabb vs. Steelers or Aaron Rodgers vs. Cowboys? My thought is it's still too soon to trust Rodgers over McNabb. Edit: reposted in the lineup advice thread where this belongs. Last edited by Uncle Briggs : 09-20-2008 at 05:37 PM. |

Stay away from Coles...well not away, but he's not as good as Colston healthy. He and Farve have had some issues and it's clear that Cotchery is the #1. im not a big fan of coles either, but anderson scares me. he seems less of a sure thing long term than campbell and i would have that connection with campbell and moss.
Have to figure out how long Farve plans on being a Jet too...ugh , why did I get rid of Battle and Welker 3 yrs ago? |

Who would you rather own: David Garrard or Matt Schaub? My starter is Philip Rivers but an owner in my league just dropped Schaub.
