New Ipods!

*Breaking news!*

What, no thread this time?

Anyways,
120gig classic will be 250
8 gig Nano for 150, 16 gig for 200
8/16/32 gig touch for 229/299/399

Apparently tons of colors of the new nano.

Meh-doubt this is the year I finally break down and buy one. Maybe if the prices were a bit more aggressive on the 16gig nano or the touch, I'd reconsider though.

I was following that today. Even though I have been a very proud owner of a 80g classic since Christmas, I don't understand the product line very well. Why would anyone pay quite a bit more and get less as in the case of a Nano compared to a classic?

Cause it's flash memory based, and you can use it to work out with.

Yeah, it's small enough to put on your arm or hip while running/working out. Although I always preferred the size of the mini to the nano - nano seems too easy to break, while my mini still works after years of being dropped, dented, and even the top breaking off (battery power is a little questionable, especially in cold weather unfortunately.)

$400 for the touch is a good deal. We love our iPhones and wish there was a 32GB option. We currently have seasons 1-3 of the Office on our 16GB phones and can't fit season 4.

<-- *feels completely out of touch since he can't understand why people would want 4 seasons of a tv show on their phone, and pay $400 for it besides.*

I'm tempted to pick one a Touch but I'm also considering an iPhone. The lower ownership costs make me want the Touch but I realize that a better iPhone is probably coming along at Macworld in January which will include the Nike+ integration, among other things, and I want to get the most bang for my buck.

The Nike Plus stuff is what tempts me for a Nano. My wife has one and loves it (mine is the classic).

I have a 3G nano, 5G classic, and the "new" shufffle (the tiny little clip one).

I keep thinking that when the classic dies, I might get a touch, because I really like the line, but truly, I could see going with another nano/classic pair. I use the shuffle at the gym (and love it), the nano mostly in the car and the classic at home and while I'm trying to fall asleep. With the Touch, which is indeed sexy, I have a constant fear that I'd mess up the screen. Also, when I watch video on my iPod, it's mostly as I'm falling asleep or multi-tasking, so it's not like I "need" the big screen. I'm a very torn Apple loyalist.

So is there anything really "new" here? 120 gig classic is nothing to write home about -- finally, something for the consumer who can't choose between the 80 and 160! Is the 32GB touch something that wasn't around before?

Nano's are fairly indestructable (with my kids they need to be ) and my iTouch has held up very well also ..

The touch is cool but not as easy to use as other models imho - simply put the old 'wheel' thing is much easier to control at a glance than a touch screen, especially when you're working out and sweaty.

Probably not, I was just wondering if anybody on Win XP was running into issues. I read on Engadget this morning that one issue some users are having is that Touch owners on Windoze machines seem to be causing a BSOD (Engadget, was wondering if anybody ran into any other problems.

I'll probably give it a go, anyway, at some point later today.

My daughter lost her old iPod nano, so I told her if she gave me $150 out of her savings account, she could get a new 8GB one.

Not only did she get a new pink one, but I bought a blue one and now that they arrived today, my wife wants a green one.

Really cool... I love it!

I just put my 80 gig black Ipod video on craigslist for $175 with an sport arm band if anyone is interested. It has had a screen protector on since day one and looks brand new. I have the box and all accessories also.
