Are any of you on this board? The reason I ask is because I am looking for some tips and advice. I recently accepted a new job as a DT this past Tuesday, and I am new to the entire process of what to do. I am in my senior year of an Early Childhood Education degree, thus I have taken a few Special Education classes and am familiar with the terms and conditions and so forth. I am to be paired up with a 12 old boy with Cerebral Palsy. My job is to essentially help him develop real-life skills by utilizing a computer screen that he has had for about a year now. His mother wants someone who is creative, and this is perhaps the most challenging aspect of this job for me. I am not really sure what she is looking for, but I do know that everything I am going to do with this boy should further his development. Everything we do must serve a purpose. There is a lot more to this job but I won't bore you all with the details.
I am curious if anyone on here is a DT or familiar with it, and if so, can offer advice to a newbie. Thanks in advance. Roma
