So are they going to cover the same thing that the clone wars cartoon series did, or is this new stuff?

I hope its new stuff done by the same guys that did Clone Wars. Hell, they should have done all the prequels with the guys that did Clone Wars...

The Clone Wars cartoon series was great. Loved the entire thing.
And then, Ep. 3 just crapped on all that.

Seeing the trailer, it's basically a complete 3d remake of the 2d cartoon series.
Skywalker vs. Ventress from the cartoon was bad-ass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMhXnxvXo4Q

Ok, so this is about to come out this weekend, and will likely make Lucas another bajillion dollars, but can someone help me out with a few things?
if this is supposed to be between Epi 2 and 3, how can Anakin have a padawan, but then still BE a padawan to Obi-Wan at the beginning of the third movie? and if there are only ever 2 sith at one time, who the hell are they fighting against in the preview...the sith has a red, double bladed lightsaber like darth maul, but the only sith that existed in that time period were Palpatine and Dooku, neither of whom has a double bladed red lightsaber? it just feels like they are throwing their own legacy away. |

The rule of two is not guaranteed. It is expected for the #2 sith to recruit a #3 and try to overthrow the #1 man.

First, Anakin is a full fledged Jedi Knight at the beginning of Episode 3.
Second, since Dooku's apprentice is the main enemy in this movie, they will likely be killed at the end of this movie. Also, with regards to the cartoon, there were 2 'sets'. The first one took place right after Episode 2. The second took place right before Episode 3. This movie happens between them. |

Went to the Royals game over the weekend. They showed a clip of this movie and then it said that the movie was 'Coming to Kauffman Stadium August 25th'. Reportedly, they're going to show the movie on the brand new HD screen in center field, which is the largest HD display in the U.S. I may have to check it out.

I hope this is a good movie, and successful enough that they make several more movies to fill in the star wars universe. There are so many more stories to tell.

I'm definitely seeing it.
It appears that the Jedi council has sanctioned Anakin having a padawan. Strange since they have always had reservations about him being too agressive, which would make you think that he's not prepared to take on a padawan. Something tells me that this padawan does not live to see Revenge of the Sith. Edit: Ah, nevermind, it looks like Yoda is the one who decided that Anakin should have a padawan to make him be more 'responsible'.

I stopped reading Harry's reviews cause they just got so stupid over time. He'd like be reviewing Xmen and then go off on some tangent about taking his great aunt to go get anal bleaching done. |

I am a huge Star Wars (and Star Trek for that matter) fan. I just cannot imagine this being good. If Lucas wants to do more Star Wars movies, how about VII, VIII, and IX? Doing a 2.5 animated feature just doesn't seen interesting to me.

I take these films as a personal afront to all that's good in the cinema. There hasn't been a good star wars movie since the original. Empire was decent, but since then Lucas has been making 2-hour commercials for the vast Star Wars merchandising jaugernaut. You can literally watch the "movies" and say "okay, that's for the video game, and now this is for the action figures, and this is to sell Halloween costumes, etc... It's the exact same thing that killed the Matrix sequels (not sure I've ever been as disappointed by a film as Revolutions).
With that said, it's been clear since Return of the Jedi that the Star Wars films would be better if they elimated the human actors altogether. We all (i.e. those of us who were there for the original Star Wars phenomenon) watched Jedi to see Darth Vader's redemption and to close the book on our childhood. Even those of us who weren't fanboys were curious about how the new trilogy would look. The result: a complete mess of a movie and a promise of more of the same. Now we have another relaunch, and maybe a shot at redemption. I saw the trailer last night before the Dark Knight and it was mildly stimulating. it doesn't look magical, but it does feel more honest about what it really is.
