FOF4: "Past Injustices"

I thought the "Due to past injustices..." message only came up when trying to resign a guy you've cut. But I'm getting it now on my star DE, who's spent his whole career with me.

The only idea I can come up with is that he's ticked off at me for slapping the franchise tag on him, then not restructuring his deal. If so, that's fine (a good feature, actually), but I've never seen it before.

Can anyone confirm if that's what's going on here?

Yes, if you slap a franchise tag on a player, he will no loner sign with you.

I just slap the tag back on him again.

Actually if you only slap it once on him and then resign him he won't complain. He'll just complain if you franchise him more than once.

Which is what happened here...

Like I said, I like this feature. I wish I'd knwon about it in advance, but it's probably realistic.

Now if I only I could cut a guy and then renegotiate with them like they do in real life...

I think I slapped the tag on a star cornerback of mine a second time and after that he wouldn't renegotiate a longer deal and he refused to resign the following season.

Sounds like a good feature to me...

Or cut a guy because you "need 4 CB's on your active roster" but have one (or a couple) injured, and need to sign another one (or something similar), but wish to pick him up again in another week or so. That happens pretty often as well.

I have franchised guys 2-3 times and still resigned them. You need to keep tabs on their loyalty score. It drops every time you franchise them. You can still resign them if it hasn't dropped too low. It needs to be a guy with great loyalty to start with.

Me either, next time I'll FT a guy who has a higher loyalty rating over someone similar. Thanks for the tip.
