Post small AI bug

this is admittedly minor, but could prove disastrous if it backfired.
Late in the first half, regardless of the score, (1 minute remaining or less) and either team (I don't playcall) has a fourth and long, team will call timeout to stop clock, and then punt. Seems the AI disregards the down situation with time running out in the first half. I haven't seen this near the end of the game.

Maybe the coach is 'poor' in playcalling?

I've been seeing way to many bugs when I've been calling the plays lately.

Well, beinga die hard Bucs fan I'm not sure this can be called a bug. I've watched us in the last weeks of the season call a time out to throw an int in the end zone on 3rd and goal and also called one on 3rd and 19 to have the quarterback fumble the ball in a play off game. Maybe, your team was just tring to set up a turn over of their own like Tampa was

But seriously,

maybe they were aware of the situation. It certainly doesn't hurt to call a time out in that situation to make sure everything is set up and you aren't hurried into a bad play. Maybe they were considering going for it, or maybe they had the wrong package on the field or too many men on the field. I've seen similar calls like this often in the NFL.

Now, as this is a game it is even more likely that it is a bug as you said, but if it is, then it's a good bug as this kind of thing DOES happen IRL.

I agree Ax, that does happen in RLNFL. I actually enjoy the random bounces the game can take, just like in the real world. Just seemed to me that it happened enough to make it a "nonrandom bounce", for want of a better term.
I usually look at playcalling first when selecting a coach, so I never have one with abilities below VG, so I doubt it's that (not to say even the best coaches will have an occasional brainfart though).
Either way, it's still minor if it is an AI glitch.

I noticed that you had said EVERY time after I posted my note and in that case it is obviously a glitch. In my earlier games I would watch the games and I noticed this but not with any noteworthy frequency but that was a while ago. I can check my game logs and see if it's happening in simmed games and get back to the group. I know it's a minor issue but sometimes those are the fun ones to work with as when you find the sordid truth it really doesn't bum you out
