Excel if/than formula help
I need one work sheet's cell to to equal the sum of 2 cells on different worksheets for each day of the week, Sunday-Monday.
So Cell X would equal the sum of C21 on sheet1 AND C21 on sheet2 on Sunday, C22 on Monday, etc.

If I'm understanding you correctly, does this work:
=SUM(Sheet1:Sheet2!C21) ? If all the sheets have the same layout, and IF/THEN statement wouldn't be required. |

Sheet 1 & 2 have the same layout BUT
the problem Im having is I need sheet 3's cell I4 (this destination cell's location never changes) to = the sum of C21 of 1 & 2 on Sunday, BUT then on Monday I need it to = the sum of C22 of 1 & 2, then on Tuesday the Sum of C33 of 1 & 2, and so on and so on....I dont know how to get the formula to float forward daily.

Something like this?
Sheet 1 Cell A1 =SUM(Sheet2!A1+Sheet3!A1) Cell A2 =SUM(Sheet2!A2+Sheet3!A2) Cell A3 =SUM(Sheet2!A3+Sheet3!A3) etc...... I didn't see that you already posted again, please ignore. Last edited by MCK : 06-19-2007 at 12:17 PM. |

I'm 'working from home' today; you can e-mail the file to [email protected] if you like. Should be a quick fix if I can see the file. |

Oh wait, I think I understand now:
Use this formula (format the cell as 'comma): =WEEKDAY(D7), where D7 is the date you're looking at. The WEEKDAY formula will return a value from 1 to 7. You can use that as the basis of your IF THEN statement. |

Check your inbox. If the formula doesn't make sense (or doesn't work), then let me know.

Making it an "If/Then" formula would help.
