Anyone seen the Dead or Alive movie?

I'm going to see it tomorrow I think.... I'm fully expecting it to be not all that great, but hey, it's one of my fave video game franchises of all time and I'm curious to see how well they parallel the series.

it's not all that good, but it's a fun watch, and kinda funny.

the action scenes (90% of the movie) were cool tho.

I can't believe Uwe Boll didn't do this movie. 45% fresh is a lot better than I would think it would do. Then again, I expect that number to fall considerably once critics actually get to screen it. It doesn't appear to have been previewed to them ahead of time.

It -was- pretty bad, but hell, it's a video game movie... it also turned out to be a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it.

But I think it's one of those cases where you get a lot more mileage out of it if you've actually played the series.

My buddy and I spent about an hour afterwards discussing it. His biggest complaint was "They pussified Brad Wong!"

My biggest issue was that I wish they'd have made it a longer movie and gotten all the fighters a little bit more involved, like I didn't see Hitomi at all, though she was listed in the credits at the end.

I also disagreed with some of the casting choices, but some of them turned out to be a lot better than I thought.

There's also one other thing that I was extremely disappointed in, but I'm not going to mention it cuz of spoiler issues and I can't figure out the tag.

The fight scenes were a blast, though, especially the ones where you saw elements' of the fighters' actual styles from the game and yes, it was hilarious a lot of the time, sometimes from campily bad movie making, other times from genuinely funny moments.
