I'm With Stupid (IWS) Vol. 39

IWS #39

Hammer755 is a little busy, so he is letting me handle this latest version of a FOFC favorite, I'm With Stupid.

IWS Rules

This is a copy of the rules which have appeared in countless other versions of IWS...

The object of this contest is to answer the questions posted below, and to provide the most common answer among those submitted. This answer does not have to be correct.

For each question, your score will be equal to the number of people who submitted that response. Your score for the contest will be the product of your individual question scores. Highest score wins.

Example: If you answer 'Frog' to question one, and 6 other people did too, you get 7 for that question. Your total score is the product (that's multiplying, for those non-math inclined ) of all six of your scores. So if you get, say, 1, 15, 7, 9, 4, 3, you'd end up with a total of 1 * 15 * 7 * 9 * 4 * 3 = 11,340.

Send your entries by private message to me, cuervo72, via PM on the FOFC board. If I run out of space on my private message system, only those actually received will be considered. When I post bumps, I will post the people from whom I have entries so you can make sure that I have received yours. Entries must be submitted by 8:00 AM (EST) on Tuesday May 27, 2003..

There aren’t many rules or clarifications necessary, but here are those I can think of:

No collaborating in any way. No posting your answers to this board, nor sharing them by email or in any other way with other potential contestants.

All determinations of matches and anything else requiring judgment fall to the sole administrator of this puzzle. There will be no appeals or contesting of the results; RonnieDobbs and I are going to make the final decision. You can, however, reduce the need for doubt and judgment on our part by properly spelling your submissions, being clear, that sort of thing. Anything that gives us clear and precise knowledge of how to determine whether your answer is the same as another answer is very helpful both to me and to you. (Answering Cincinnati Bengals is probably clearer than answering Cincinnati, for instance)

The winner of this contest will become the host of the next "I'm With Stupid Contest. If he chooses not to host the contest, the next highest placing participant who wishes to host may do so. In the event of a tie, one winner will moderate, and all winners will have the option to contribute questions.

The winner(s), of course, also retain the right to have their screen names published as past winners of the contest for all future versions. And that's nothing to sneeze at, I'll tell you.

IWS #'s 1-28 can be found linked in this thread.

IWS #'s 29-38 can be found at the following links...

#38 - Questions and Results
#37 - Both Questions and Results
#36 - Both Questions and Results
#35 - Questions, Results
#34 - Questions, Results
#33 - Questions, Results
#32 - Both Questions and Results
#31 - Both Questions and Results
#30 - Questions, Results
#29 - Questions, Results

And here are the questions (no baseball questions this time)

1. Name a song recorded by the King, Elvis Presley.
2. Name a villain who is a member of the Legion of Doom.
3. Name a card game.
4. Name a European (or traditionally European) automobile nameplate. (edit: clarification; American examples would be Ford, Mercury, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Plymouth, Jeep, Eagle, Chevy, etc)
5. Complete the following: GENERAL __________
6. Estimate the average FOFC member age

#5 was inspired by Match Game.....good luck!

Vince, you did a damn good job I think, and considering I tied for first, I loved your questions . And thanks, I appreciate it.

edit: I love this stuff, anyway....and the game reminds me of Family Feud

You must have seen the '99 version, then. You learned more euphemisms for "penis" by watching that show than you could shake ... never mind.

I'm in.
Here's for hoping I can finish out of the bottom 3 once again...
Again, I have confidence in finishing in the top half.

Here's the update.....but first, the Match Game. I prefer the Match Game from the 70's, hosted by Gene Rayburn, with Richard Dawson, Brett Sommers, Charles Nelson Reilly and the like. Hmm....putting together a match game might be fun, 2 contestants and 6 (or less, depending on logistics) "celebrities"; the host could ask the question, the celebrities would PM their answers, and then the contestants could give their answers on the board. Could work I guess. I'll have to think about that one. Of course, Gene Rayburn should host

Anyway, there are 16 entrants so far, and things are still wide open:
