Thumbs up My wife's pregnant

Just found out this morning. We were trying, so it wasn't too much of a surprise. Except she's been on birth control for 12 years and just got off last month. Her doctor said it may take up to 6 months to conceive. Shows you what they know.

I told her I hope we have a boy so he can play football. We might name him Zachary Thomas after my favorite football player.

Congratulations!!! The FrogWoman is also pregnant, expecting our second child in early January of 2004.

12 years on the pill, so I would assume this'll be your first. Welcome among the proud dads of this world, you'll see, it's tough, but oh so rewarding!!!

Hey, Fish Fan.

Congratulations. The four most memorable moments of my life thus far were meeting my wife, marrying her, and the moments my two sons were born.

Re. the pill, in the case of our second son (my wife went back on the pill shortly after the first one was born), my wife missed two doses and got pregnant...so it can happen that quick.

It is hard work, but there are times that it is the most rewarding, enjoyable thing you will ever do.

Congrats, Dolphin! Start praticing the care and feeding of the pregnant wife as soon as possible.

To start, try to erase phrases such as "What do you want me to do about it?" or "Not now honey, the game is on!" from your vocabulary. Saying these things at any time to your pregnant wife can result in death or worse, a total emotional meltdown.

Stop sleeping now. If you get used to it ahead of time, I hear it's not so bad. I heard this somewhere once, but I can't remember because I lack sleep.

Be flexible. Give in to her every demand. Forget about yourself, because everyone else will, too.

It's going to be GREAT!!!

Congrats. That's great news. We're trying as well and want to name our first Zachary (if it's a boy.) Maybe your luck will rub off.

my moderately amusing story -
we we're starting to try about this time 2 years ago. It was a very planned thing - we figured we'd spend the summer trying and hopefully get pregnant by September.

so, I was REALLY looking forward to what I was expecting to be a Summer of Love. I'm envisioning sex on demand - any whim of mine as an excuse to help our cause ("um, gee, honey, maybe it would help if we brought in another girl or two to help motivate me").

it took less than a week - our 2nd time after she got off the pill. And, like that, my Summer of Love turned into my Summer of Being Married to a Pregnant Woman in her First Trimester.
