Royal Marines recover fallen comrade

Weird and daring rescue.

http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/...247706,00.html

Four Royal Marines hung onto Apache helicopters to fly in and get the body of their fellow soldier out.

Very brave, but don't the British have any transport helicopters in Afghanistan? Or can't they at least get help from somebody else?

From what I can gather, there would not have been time to wait for help from anywhere else. I believe that they were unsure of the extent of the soldier's injuries when they began the rescue mission.

After watching one of the related videos you are correct sir.

Also the battle was still raging, making it impossible for the normal rescue to get into the area.
