Cisco buying Oakland A's
The local radio is reporting that Cisco Systems is going to buy the A's and move them to Fremont.
They are reporting that the "official" announcement will be on the 14th.

They are supposed to be announcing a new stadium in Fremont (right on the San Jose border) that will be built on land owned by Cisco. I would be suprised if there was an ownership change.

I can see the new name now:
The Fremont A's presented by cisco systems... that will make for a nice abbreviation.

The A's have wanted to move to San Jose, but the Giants own the territorial rights. Fremont is as close as they would be able to get without some kind of deal to acquire the San Jose territorial rights from the Giants, who (quite accurately) regard San Jose as a key part of their fan base.
