Can the Lakers do it?
Down 25 at one point, they are now within 4 with less than 3:00 to play.

It's almost like the Spurs are scared to win. Reminds me of the Kings last year.
EDIT: Forgot to add this GO SPURS! KILL THE LAKERS!

I wouldn't exactly call that shot a choke... it wasn't an air ball or something. in and out, so close. |

Wouldn't call that a choke, the shot was dead on. Nevertheless, I loathe the Kings and Lakers both, so I'm starting to get excited about a possible Mavs-Spurs so I can finally watch an NBA Finals without vomiting.

That was the single best 4th quarter of basketball I've seen the Lakers play in their entire dynasty. If there was ever a 4th quarter miracle comeback they deserved to win, it was this one.
Nice game for the Lake show. See NBA? They don't need your help!!!! Stop giving them it. Please tell me they don't go home in game 6 and shoot 45 free throws again. TroyF |

MrBug,
I don't think the NBA wants them to lose to begin with. Still, credit where credit is due. They played an incredible game and showed actual championship heart in it. People think because I whine about the officiating that I don't respect this team. That is the furthest thing from the truth you could get at. I do respect the team. I just wish they always had to play under the same rules everyone else does. In game 4, I believe the officiating played a part in the game. I counted 7 consecutive times in the fourth quarter the Lakers drove and got foul calls. The Spurs drove 4 times in the same span and didn't get one. I have a problem with that. Always have. Always will. Tonight? Just a terrific comeback by a great team. I'll revel in having just watched a great basketball game and HOPE I can watch a similar game in game 6, no matter who wins. TroyF |

Do you really think the NBA would prefer to see their MVP being tossed around by Shaq? Duncan represents the best in Basketball. What does it say to their credibility if the Lakers run through them like last year?

Yeah, it may not have been a true chock, but Bob always hits those types of shots, so it was nice to see him miss. Of course, I loved watching him hit those shots when he was a Rocket, but that was ages ago...

When Shaq was guarding Duncan, Duncan got owned. Unfortunately, no one else on the Lakers can handle him. |

Rex,
If the Lakers put Shaq on Tim long term, it'll be a disaster for them. He'll take Shaq outside (around 15 feet) Duncan can hit that shot and it leaves the lane open for drives and offensive rebounds. The mistake Tim makes is that when Shaq gaurds him for a possession or two, he'll try to post him up and draw a foul. NOT a good move. TroyF |

Yup. And the same with Shaq inside. He (Shaq) had some pretty moves in game 4... My guess...this is going to go 7...and the last game will be awe-some. |

so, how can you toss someone around if you are never near them?
shaq is the most dominant force in the game today, but tim isn't far behind. one wouldn't completely dominate the other |

Last night's game is why I hate the Lakers, and why I would argue that most people should...They basically felt entitled to have Horry's shot go in--thus, no one followed the shot, tried to rebound, etc. Only Fisher came storming across the court to foul, but it was too late. Instead, Horry was dancing back down the court, only to start whining. Who knows what Kobe and Medvedenko (or was George in) were doing? Shaq made a half hearted grab for the board. Horry took the shot with 6 seconds left. There was still time to foul immediately, and have another chance, particularly with the way SA shoots free throws.
I'm not complaining though. Go whoever plays the Lakers! |

The shot was on the money, just clanged out. Why they didn't go for the rebound, I dunno. Offensive rebounds are harder to fall in
I think they should have went for the tie though. They had the upperhand in the game and Spurs were choking big time |
