windows 2000 question?

Anyone who works with windows 2000 or knows. I am trying to find out what kind of logging will windows servers do. In particular does it logging successful and failed updates to the swindows system.

Ok, actually disregard the previous post. What I am looking for is a way to see the "Success or failure rates on a job run by windows schedulerer" Another words is there a way to see jobs and if they were successful or failed on windows 2000 or 2003. I know this is sent to a printer, but we are looking to see if these are viewable on the system? Hopeful one of you windows admin guys or other IT guy.

I'm rusty on how you would do it, but I'm pretty sure you can have it write to the event log.
