Computer Question
Okay, techies. I have a computer question for you:
I have a laptop with a partitioned hard drive. The C: drive is ~3 gigs, and the D: drive is ~4 gigs. I want to completely start over and reinstall Windows 2000 (cause it's the one I have) and "unpartition" my drives. In other words I want to re-format my hard drive and end up with a single C: drive at ~7 gigs. How do I do that? I tried just doing a fresh install of Win 2000, but it asks me where I want to do the install, C: or D: it doesn't give me the option to combine the two partitions. Thanks. All help is appreciated. |

1. Create boot disk with system files
2. Boot to boot disk 3. Run FDisk off of the boot disk 4. Profit or Partition Magic Last edited by VPI97 : 05-11-2003 at 10:19 PM. |

Find a boot disk - you should have one with Windows 2000 (or you can use an old Win 95/98 disk). Boot to it, run fdisk and use the link VPI gave you. Don't buy PM just to delete partitions.

It's been a while since a Win2000 installation, but when it gives you the choice of where, does it give you the option to create/delete partitions? If so, what you want to do is delete C:, delete D:, and create a new C:.
