It looks interesting Mizzou but with the limited functionality of the demo (as described), I think I'll wait until I see what heartier souls than me think before I give it a spin. With so much stuff disabled, playing the demo wouldn't tell me much anyway.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Looks fun, I guess we'll have to wait until it's release soon.

There's always an angle, after the fact. This year, you could say "which two horses had put up the best speed figures in the best races of their careers?" And (at least according to BRIS, the Beyers may be slightly different) those two horses would be FUNNY CIDE and EMPIRE MAKER, both from the Wood. That exacta paid $97.00.

Speaking of Beyer. Doesn't he sound a lot like Bill Walton?

I'll laugh if Funny Cide wins the Triple Crown, since he can't be studded out.

Somehow, I just don't think Funny Cide is triple crown material... Besides, he's going to face fresh competition in the Preakness, and I think Frankel will probably rest Empire Maker for the Belmont - a race for which he is ideally bred (the horse, that is... not Frankel).

My guess would be the same, FN... that Frankel will perhaps send PEACE RULES to the Preakness, and keep EMPIRE MAKER on the shelf for the Belmont. Tough to say whether FUNNY CIDE has a shot all all three, but I agree with you - his weak link is probably the last one.

EMPIRE MAKER won't runs in two weeks at Pimlico - Frankel has pretty much already confirmed that. But, I imagine we'll see a slew of horses who were "off the Derby trail" come back for the Preakness. I think this Derby field was missing a lot of three year old talent and FUNNY CIDE will be another MONARCHOS (except, he won't be put out to stud after a handful of races).

Thank god for the undercard. I broke even in my trip to the Derby this year.
