:CM4: Work permits.........

This is one of the most frustrating parts of CM4 in my opinion. I know nothing about Professional soccer in Europe but i just cant imagine it is really this hard to get players from other countrys to play for you.

At the start of my last game with Stockport, I signed 5 young players from other country's (freddy Adu being 1 of them). And each and every one was rejected for a work permit. I appealed all of them and they got rejected again.

why is it so hard to get work permits??? Could someone please explain the logic behind this??? Is it this hard in real life??? And why doesnt SI make CM4 more custimizeable??? Like injury settings, Work permits, etc....

They need to have a high reputation, and I think have played in 70% of their countries past 16 internationals

I think it's an official Premier league rule, which is why there aren't that many americans over there except Reyna, Keller, Friedel...

What about the minor leagues? I can't get work permits in Conference play or D-3

Like MrBug708 said, they need to have either a high reputation or have played a number of international matches. As an example, Marcos from Brazil had some trouble getting his permit for Arsenal. The starting keeper on the World Cup winner, mind you.

Havok . . . If you want to tinker with non-EU players, you might try starting in another country. German, Spanish and Italian teams were getting permits left and right for players I could not get one for with England.

Blackie . . . I think you're having a tough time getting permit because of the type of players you can get in conference or D3. You're not going to frequently get big name internationals to come over for that. And you're not going to get permits without a big name. Of course, if you're willing to go off the beaten paths, you CAN do it. Oceania and Africa have players who can contribute at that level and the number of caps to allow them permits.

Australia is a part of Oceania but it's the biggest team from that region. I don't know how it is in CM4 but in CM3, you couldn't search "Australia" by itself. You had to go with "Oceania" as a region to cover the entire area.

For work permits, it's either 75% of your international team's games or - and this is relatively rare - special circumstances, like having a huge reputation. The British Isles tend to be much stricter about this than just about anywhere else.

There are no work permits outside of UK. There is still a limitation of the non eu players you can put on the field (unless you play in Belgium or Netherlands and a few countries I can't remember)

Does Spain even require a work permit? I know they have a limit on foreigners on the starting team/subs, but do you have to actually have a permit?

I'm not too familiar with that one yet.

That's general goverment policy. It's not football-specific.

I think the thought is that by limiting the number of foreigners in your league, it gives your own nation's players more chance to improve. This in turn allows for a much larger player pool from which to choose your national team. After all, it has been a while since England has proven their "superiority" on the field.

You can search Australia on your own now, since it is a playable league.

I'm playing Bolton, trying to stave off relegation. I signed Freddy Adu, but work permit was rejected. I appealed and got it that time.
