Off-topic- Video Card/Sale
I apologize for putting this out here, but I don't particularly want to go the ebay route- does anyone want an ATI 128MB 9600XT card (AGP) ? Its brand new - I bought it at black Friday a year ago, and never got around to using it, and I'm moving to a Pci-express board so I can't use it.

I think I have a Radeon 9200 (64Mb) right now. How much of an upgrade would this be (I ask because prices available on-line look decent)?

Flere,
I'll direct you to the best source I know of - Tom's hardware. I can't seem to find benchmarks for the 9200, but there a bunch of them for the 9600, and someone here who knows more can probably enlighten you. http://www.tomshardware.com/2004/11/...de/page15.html Fyi, Do you have a retail 9200 or a default one from a desktop ? The one's from a desktop might well be 64-bit or SE's, which are genuine pieces of shit - a retail version is less likely to be so. Last edited by Crapshoot : 02-20-2006 at 01:00 PM. |

Crapshoot - I've responded to your PM.
For those who might know - my CPU is an Athlon XP 1800+ and I have 1 Gb of RAM. Will this card be limited by my system or should the CPU be able to feed it OK? I've checked all the usual review sites, but can't find anything definitive. Thanks. |
