so now it is starting to come out that Cheney told some "white" lies in the account of what happened. First it was "zero" alcohol consumption but now its "a beer with lunch". Among other discrepencies. I hate this shit. I could not care less about this, to me its stupid to begin with, and maybe minimally newsworthy but their lying and mishandling of it is the absolute achilles heel of this admin. what the hell are they doing? Just come out with it, tell the truth 99% of Americans wouldnt have cared to begin with and maybe wouldve felt sorry for Cheney but now we (i have to assume others think like me some too, im not alone in the world) are viewing it as another lie. I have a friend who cant help but lie, its pathological...Im beginning to wonder if they dont suffer the same as my friend from this diarreah of the mouth. so stupid.

I saw your headline right after Flasch's normal political rantings about Cheney. You are a known Bush/Cheney despiser (I am too, although a little less fanatical), so I assumed it was a political statement. If it wasn't, my bad. But I really don't know what the point would be otherwise. Perhaps you could elucidate me on your point.

From whence the strawman? I never said a single thing attacking you, not even a single thing about you, let alone something alluding to your political ideology.

My point is that apologizing for being shot in the face is funny. It reads like an Onion headline, which is a satirical newspaper. One common tactic of satirists is to put people in situations and have the actions be something that you would not normally suspect, or be something alluding to the vices associated with a public figure. In this case, if you are a 78 year old man that got shot in the face, you wouldn't expect to have to apologize. To do so sounds like satire, especially given the common perception that the players suffer from the vice of never taking responsibility for anything.

I'm a defensive grump. I admit it.

At the same time, do you TRY to be so condescending? I know what satire is. Don't assume that people with other views from you are intellectually inferior, as it really muddles and lessens any point that you are trying to make.
