MSNBC: The DoD just released the names of 8 soliders who have been moved from the MIA / POW list to "deceased". Either 7 or all 8 were from the maintenance company Jessica Lynch is in. They didn't say it, but I'm guessing their bodies were among the ones found at that hospital.

BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Casting a vastly different picture than the U.S. military, Iraq's Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf Saturday denied reports that U.S. Army and Marine forces were in the Iraqi capital, saying the Americans were playing tricks.

Reuters: 10-12 possibly killed in possible friendly fire incident in Northern Iraq. Report was possibly bomb dropped from plane onto convoy. Injured or killed could include Kurd fighters, including a senior leader.

Chemical Ali's home also bombed. Search of the rubble turned up his bodyguard, who is dead.

Coaltion bombers now using "concrete bombs."

17 or 18 Kurds, fighting with the Coalition, were killed in this apparent friendly fire incident/attack.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Abul Abbas, the leader of the Palestinian group that killed an American on the hijacked cruise liner Achille Lauro in 1985, has been captured in Baghdad, U.S. officials said Tuesday.

Abbas was taken by American special operations forces during a raid Monday night on the outskirts of the capital city, the officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Abu Abbas was captured in a raid by coalition forces in southern Baghdad on Monday evening.

Abbas is described as the leader of the Palestine Liberation Front, the group that carried out the hijack of the Italian cruise ship the Achille Lauro in 1985 during which a disabled American passenger, Leon Klinghoffer, was shot and his body pushed overboard. US central command says his capture represents another victory in the war against terrorism.

The plans for Abbas are not yet clear. A spokesman merely said that justice will be done. Abbas has been living in Iraq for the last seventeen years, but he's also travelled in the Middle East and the Israeli authorities did allow him to visit Gaza several times in the late 1990s after their security committee concluded he'd renounced violence.

The United States also dropped a warrant for his arrest several years ago but his capture in Iraq is now likely to be used as evidence that Saddam Hussein was supporting terror groups.

I was listening to the news on the radio on the way back from work and they reported that health clinics had been looted and samples of AIDS, polio and other diseases were now missing. They were broadcasting an anti-American rally in Iraq in which people were claiming the U.S. was only in Iraq for the oil because it was the only thing they had protected from looters, the Iraqi army, etc. They even had a quote from one protestor yelling that now (post Saddam) he would become a suicide bomber if the U.S. didn't leave.
