FM: Can a Team develop a rival?

I took over Kaiserslautern in the German First after taking an English club (Carlisle) to the Championship from teh 2nd League. After two years, I've played tough against FC Bayern, despite being a relegation candidate the first year. In four league games, we've only allowed two goals to FC Bayern while only scoring a grand total of none ourselves.

We made it to the semi-final of the German Cup and then we had to play at Bayern. We went in a crushed them 2-1 (The game wasn't as close as the score). Afterward, my board aid that they were proud over our win over our rivals.

FC Bayern has never been mentioned as our rival before. Not in any manager comments, not in any media comments, not by the board, nowhere, in our previous four games. Did this suddenly develop? Is there any way to check and see if a team has a rival, and who it is if they do?

I don't think you can develop rivals although that would be very cool (but it should probably take more than two seasons). You can check in the editor who your rivals are, if your machine can handle opening the editor at least. Kaiserslautern's rivals are Bayern, Karlsruhe, and SVW Mannheim.
