Question RB Charles Roberts

I just need some clarification on the RB of my Winnipeg BlueBombers, Charles Roberts... I remember a few years ago how the Bombers got some really good RB that was ranked highly in highschool, but never made the NFL for some reason...

I don't know if it was Charles Roberts (which would make sense, given his size. Although he does take many many licks, but keeps on ticking...), or if it was someone that they don't even have anymore.

I find it strange that Roberts isn't on an NFL team, given his amazing talents of KR, PR, catching, and rushing... even with his small size, he would be useful as a 3rd-down back on SOME teams I would think.

Just did a search... I think this is him:

RB Charles Roberts

He's from Cali., and it says his last amateur club was Sacramento State... makes sense.. aren't those really good numbers?

Very good numbers, but not against Division I teams.

Ohh ok. Thanks for the input. But you see how I find it strange that NO NFL gave him a shot? He's really good in the CFL too.

He might not can catch the ball, with those reception numbers. Could be his downfall.

Considering some of the 'great' players we've had in the CFL that have gone to the NFL and done nothing, maybe it was his choice to stay here and be a top tier player, and not go to the NFL and be a 3rd stringer (ala John Avery right now, or the bomb that was the Giz when he played for Atlanta then made a beeline back for Edmonton).

I think you're thinking of Ben Gay.

I was just clarifying the level that Roberts was playing at. Your point is still valid. He wasn't playing against top competition. He was a big star locally, though, and I remember him getting a lot of press coverage in the Sacramento media.
