Saying Goodbye to Utah
Wow,
What a weird week this has been. A total emotional rollercoaster as we have packed our house up, and watched it drive away, heading to the new home, almost 2000 miles away. For me, I am excited, but sad, my friends have been my family since I was 13, as we all are from divorced homes. We are brothers to the point our kids call each other Aunt and Uncle. They helped us load the trailer on Saturday and we had a big BBQ, I will admit to crying as they all went home that night, it will be a while before I see my brothers. I lived in Memphis, TN off and on for a couple of years with my dad, so I am not to concerned. The wife, on the other hand, has been a constant crying fountain as she is leaving her family, and the only place she has known for the past 31 years. My kids are excited and look at this as an adventure, and can't wait to get there. All in all, the Thomas family is packed and ready to head to Buffalo on Friday bright and early in the morning. Why am I telling you this, well...my net access starting tomorrow will be through my air card and limited as I am driving 2000 miles with 3 kids, in 3 days...scary huh....keep an eye on the Ping! Drunk Guy thread when I hit Buffalo...or who knows....sooner. Until then, everyone enjoy!

I remember leaving L.A. at 23, the only "home" I've ever known, to move to San Diego and it was very, very difficult. I'm thankful we left, although sometimes it hurts a bit to know that all our family is out there. But in the end, like you said, it's all an adventure.
Drive carefully and good luck! |

Good luck, MacroGuru. It was hard enough for me to move from Louisiana to Pennsylvania, and that was without having to bring kids along, too. Good luck dealing with the youngsters on your trip.

Good luck. How are you going to keep track of the Admirals and your personal stable of players?

Macro, have a safe trip and good luck. I've lived in ten different states and I honestly wouldn't change that for the world. Each place has brought new, exciting, and cool experiences.

Glad you made it safe, a shame you had to leave before the spring game. I am heading up to Provo tomorrow. We could have downed a few Beers after the game, along with a few dirty looks from the locals for drinking in our BYU swag

Welcome to western NY macro! I'm actually going to Chicago for the weekend, but you'll be rather busy I'm sure. Maybe we can get together for dinner sometime in the next few weeks!
Glad to hear you made it safely!!. |

Soon they will be even less overcrowded -- when the Bills move to Toronto.

They'l move to LA long before they ever consider Toronto. There is a movement right now to build a new stadium on the waterfront downtown. I like the idea to an extent, the parking issues involved would be utterly insane. |
