"Spot On"
It seems it pops up at least once or twice a thread here at FOFC these days, and I'm hearing it more and more often scattered about in my 'real life' (relatively speaking) as well. I swear that this was not the case a couple years ago, and according to my deteriorating mind it can all be traced back to a crappy Jack in the Box ad for their foul attempt at fish and chips....am I missing something (other than a full set of firing synapses)?
When and how did this phrase decide to cross the Atlantic and enter the casual American lexicon? Did it bring any of its mates? Did we have to trade anything away in order to secure its services? Do all the British kids drop a so-cal stoner flavored "TOTALLY!!" when they're in agreement these days? I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me. |
