Uh oh ... kickoff OOB and now a nice pass by Q.C. 51-yard FG attempt to tie for Dallas.

And to think, the only reason I'm watching this game is because I'm waiting for the local news to come on with a story about the place a good friend of mine works at.

I don't think you can really blame Bryant. He kicked it right at the hashmark and just took a odd bounce towards the sideline. It was a key play however.

Sorry Giants fans...I also have to take some responsibility for the loss. I had chosen the Cowboys in the Loser's competition (expecting the Giants to dominate the Tuna-boys)...

As the Giants went up by 3 with 11 seconds left I was sitting there thinking to myself how special I was for at least picking two straight losers (in the loser's competition), even if the margin wasn't too big...

Once again...Giant's fans...I am sorry.

Oh wait.. nevermind.. he doesn't play defense.

That would be Billy "I see dead people" Cundiff, the pariah of last week's game. He's lucky to be on the team, but man did he ever come through clutch tonight.

I actually had to work tonight, but I got off in time to go to a bar and catch the fourth quarter and overtime. I thought that I was bad luck since last week as soon as I got off work the Cowboys started losing to the Falcons and then they blew their lead tonight too. I was sure it was over when the Giants kicked that last field goal...

Amazing end to the game. Q played within himself and made some big plays even though the Giants didn't have to worry about stopping sorry ass Hambrick.

From what I saw it looked like the Giants got some home cooking from the refs on a couple of those interference calls (the one on Edwards and the one on Roy on the two point convo). But hey, we managed to win it anyways.

There's NO WAY that we could have won this game if Hutchinson was playing. Strahan would have eaten him alive.

Oh, and the girlfriend actually encouraged me to go out after work to catch the game. I'm thinking that maybe she was just in one of her moods last week. Or you guys could be right and she realized that the weekend was over and she didn't have any authority anymore...

Jeeber, for what it's worth, I thought the first one on the 2 point conversion was PI, but the second one was a crock of bullshit.

Quincy Carter had some not-so-great stretches...but he also had some pretty decent flashes of brilliance. well, brilliance is too strong a word, but he did look pretty good at times.

My favorite Madden moment was him pointing out just how strong Larry Allen was for pushing a defender 5 yards off the line of scrimage, though never mentioning the other Cowboy lineman that was double teaming that player in his example. I guess that player got his strength through some sort of psychic connection with Allen.

Still, Larry Allen is pretty darn strong. My favorite play I ever saw him make, he basically brought a charging pass rusher to the ground with one arm. LA used that arm to hold the rusher down (the guy was only somewhat trying to get up) while moving from side to side looking for another pass rusher to take down.

I don't disagree that Larry Allen is strong, just Madden's choice of examples. I think the fact that he kept dwelling on it and showed it several times just got me even more.

But this is the kind of thing that Madden does very often. Pick a play that to the average fan may seem impressive, add a few BOOM, and POW, show it four more times, etc... Just like when he thinks he saw a WR do a block downfield, then they show the replay and it turns out the WR in question was on the other side of the field

The guy is now a machine of unentional comedy...

I wonder if Shockey can spell C-H-O-K-E

That one he dropped in the endzone may be the single most deplorable act of the art of receiving I have ever seen. Talking smack is one thing if you back it up on the field, but some people need to just shut the hell up!

My favorite Madden moment was when he compared Troy Hambrick to Walter Payton (something about how they both dish out as much punishment as they receive). That should be the ONLY time Troy is ever mentioned in the same breath as Walter...

We interupt this thread to report on a demonic posession taking place at USA Tennis New England today. Ranking Coordinator Chris Snow was apparently domineered by a hate filled death screaming demon as he was reading through this thread. As the possession ended the demon was heard to shout:

"The arthw ill end at 10PM"

We'll have details of that end tonight at Eleven.....

There were horrible calls on both sides. I'm not sure it's a coincedant that Dallas was doing good when the Giants got some bad calls and then the Giants did good when Dallas got a couple of bad calls.

(BTW, that PI call on the 2pt conversion was a good call. Anytime a defender puts his arm around the receiver the way he did, it's going to be called PI. Everyone knows that...well, most people I guess.)

Well, like I said in my original post, I only got to see the fourth quarter and overtime. If there were some bad calls going the Cowboys way I missed them...

there was one call late in the game where a Giant back got called for PI on Antonio Bryant, and he didn't even touch Bryant. If anything, it was offensive interference (and, I'm not even sure the ball was catchable).

there was that one bad spot in the 1st half that was pretty blatant.

plus, they didn't talk about it in the game, but when Newman intercepted that pass for Shockey and landed on the ground - I'd like to see the replay again, but I'm pretty sure Shockey never touched him either before or after he hit the ground. They whistled him down right away, but I think he should have been able to run that back.

I didn't think so at first either, but on one of the replays I saw when they both landed on the ground, Shockey's leg hit part of his body.

you're probably right. I was hoping they'd show another replay so I could see for sure, but they moved on pretty quickly.

I wondered that too, I saw Shockey reach for him as he got up but didn't get him that time so the only thing could have been in the leg touched (kind of a lame call for a tackle though).
