This weather sucks

In the Austin area, we are experiencing the worst kind of weather, at least to me. Anytime the temp is between 35 and 40, and it's raining, I hate it. A little bit colder, it is snow, which is a novelty in these parts and you can go outside and enjoy it. But when it is just above freezing and raining, it just sucks.

I'm glad our soccer game that was scheduled for this morning was cancelled.

5 hours south of Austin, and 80 degrees.

Although tomorrow we get the cold. Down into the 40's they say, and then we start climbing again.

I don't so much mind the cold, I just can't stand the combo of cold and wet. Cold and ice doesn't bother me near as much. I guess it is lingering effect of spending a lot of time outdoors with the Boy Scouts in this kind of weather. We even had a canoe trip once when it was 38 degrees and raining. That was a miserable trip.

Hold on. Let me get out my world's smallest violin that you might be able to hear over the couple of inches of sleet that continue to fall.

Like I mentioned, I don't mind as much if it is cold and ice. If you have to do anything outside, it just doesn't feel as cold if it is 25 degrees and snowing/sleeting as opposed to 35 degrees and raining.

In Ohio, we've probably seen the sun for a total of 30 minutes for the past 7 days.

We're going through a very cold snap ourselves here in SoCal, and, no, I'm not happy about it (it's about the same as in Austin). That said, I had the good sense not to mention it here or make a big deal of it, because I know we at our worst are better off than 80% of the country's winter average (at least).

No school tomorrow! yay. Probably the first time in my 8 years at this school (which is almost an hour away from where I live) that the weather was bad enough to close school there but just raining here. Seriously, no ice or snow here at all. Yay.

We had a nice little ice storm on Friday, today it started up again and the power was off all day long. Right after the Chicago game came on, off goes the power!! Damn you Mother Nature!!!!

Yep, it was only 63 degrees when we got home from my daughter's soccer game.
