Please don't talk about being stuck in the snow over Spring Break. Last year for Spring Break I took my girlfriend to my parents house in Colorado for the first time. Well, before we left there were some reports that there might be some rain, and a slight chance of snow. We packed warm, but didn't expect to see too much of the white stuff. Well, our flight landed around noon and it was slightly drizzling, and by 6pm there was a pretty good snowfall going. It didn't stop snowing for three days. We got there just in time for the biggest blizzard Colorado had seen since the 1920's. There was four feet of snow piled up in my parents driveway, and my girlfriend and I spent most of our vacation digging us out of the crap. A snowplow didn't make it out to my parents street until the last full day that we were there (which happened to be day five of the trip), so my girlfriend and I were able to get out at least a little bit. Pretty much all she saw of Denver, however, was the Denver Museum of Natural History and the inside of Beau Jo's Pizza. Pretty sad... Here are a couple of pics that give a little reference to the depth of the snow...

That's it? I thought you'd said there was a lot of snow, but then I look at the pictures... Last edited by mckerney : 02-28-2004 at 12:41 PM. |

Well, the snow had several days to melt when those pictures were taken. I have pics from during the storm and right after it stopped on a couple of rolls of film that I have yet to get developed. Once I do I'll show you what it was really like...

I love you, man. I really do. I discovered Beau Jo's on a spring break trip before I moved here and it was by far the best pizza experience I have ever had. The expanded into the Front Range soon after that but now they are gone and back only in the mountain towns. |

Are you sure about that? They recently (in the past five years) built the location in Highlands Ranch, and I know that there was one in Fort Collins when I went to school there... After looking at their website, it looks like there are Beau Jo's in HR, Idaho Springs (the original and best location), Denver, Fort Collins, Arvada, and Evergreen. I guess none of those are really close to the Springs, though. But I wouldn't say that a two hour drive to HR to get some outstanding pizza would be excessive... Edit: I just found out that you can get Beau Jo's shipped to you, even out of state! I may just have to order up one of those bad boys. Ain't nothing quite like a Mountain Pie... Heh, nice work on the pic, BG. I knew I was opening myself to all sorts of crap by posting that one...
