We have much less trouble with the Maroons than we had with Swarthmore, our other newbie opponent. Our backcourt plays exceptionally well, as Asaad Richardson and Kai Smith combine for an 8-for-17 performance from behind the arc while committing only two turnovers.

One day, Hassan Adams will tell his grandchildren how he once played against Dan O'Halloran, defending him so well that the All-American missed 13 of the 15 shots he took.
Record: 12-1.

I've never seen the Big East, or any other conference, roll over its non-league opponents like this. So, I decided to take a closer look. Now I'm not nearly as impressed.

Only three Big East teams have played a ranked opponent, and none have done so more than once!

Boston College lost to #13 Washington. Georgetown and Villanova both lost to #1 Tennessee. We've been flat track bullies, haven't we?

To be fair, I scheduled Vanderbilt and Lafayette, who are almost always Top 25 teams, and neither are that good this year. No other Big East school has dared to challenge themselves against the big boys this year.

Our conference RPI is .566, second to the SEC's .571. The Big Ten is third at .562.
