(16) 2013 vs. (1) 1942
2013 with the upset as they swept 1942. Adam Wainwright was named MVP as he was 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00. There wasn't much offense during the series to choose from.

(15) 1928 vs. (2) 1944
1928 with the next upset as they win the series in 6 games. Bill Sherdel was named MVP as he was 1-1 with an ERA of 0.98 in 18.1 innings.

(14) 1985 vs. (3) 1931
The upsets continue as 1985 wins in 5 games. John Tudor was named MVP as he was 2-0 with an ERA of 0.00 in 18.0 innings, he threw a shutout in game 1 and then again in game 5 for the clincher. Tom Herr hit .421 with 3 RBI's. Sparky Adams hit .562 with 2 RBI's in the loss. Charlie Gelbert hit .500 with 1 homerun and 1 RBI in the loss. 1928 had hose two players hit over .500 but the rest of the team hit well under .200.

(13) 2004 vs. (4) 1946
2004 wins in 5 games to continue the upsets (though this really as 2004 is one of the better teams). Chris Carpenter was named MVP as he was 2-0 with an ERA of 1.00 in 18.0 innings. Enos Slaughter hit .529 with 1 homerun and 3 RBI's in the loss.

(12) 1943 vs. (5) 1967
A series of runs, 1943 won the first 3 games, 1967 won the next three to force a game 7, then 1943 won 3-1 for the seven game series victory. Walker Cooper was named MVP as he hit .484 with 4 RBI's and led all players with 15 hits. Roger Maris hit .333 with 2 RBI's in the loss.

(11) 2006 vs. (6) 1934
2006 continued the run of upsets with a 5 game series victory. Chris Carpenter was named MVP as he was 2-0 with an ERA of 0.47 in 19.0 innings. Scott Rolen (booooo!!!) hit .450 with 2 homeruns and 3 RBI's. Frankie Frisch had a series to forget in the loss as he was 0 for 19. Dizzy Dean had an ERA of 1.45 in 18.2 innings but was 0-2.

(10) 2011 vs. (7) 1926
1926 is the first team to avoid the upsets in the 1st round with a sweep. Ray Blades was named MVP as he hit .533 with 2 homeruns and 4 RBI's and led all players with 8 hits.

(9) 1982 vs. (8) 1964
1982 led he series 3-1 but 1964 roared back with 24 runs scored in the next three games on their way to a game 7 win. Bill White was named MVP as he hit .467 with 2 homeruns and 6 RBI's and led all players with 14 hits.
