I like to dig deeper than wins and losses to figure out why those wins and losses happened. This year's Wildcats were almost as explosive offensively as last year's team, but they were a bit better defensively. The margins still look very good. We handled a challenging schedule, playing 30 of our 40 games against teams in the top 100 of the RPI list. And, most importantly, we won games in March and April.

Asher Wise finishes the season with an even 700 points, which is the highest single season total in Villanova's history. That surprises me; I figured someone had scored at least that many before I took the 'Nova job. I remember
Byron Shores and
Kenton Lashley scoring that many at Lafayette while Coach Sims was there.
Asher and
Reed Weisberg broke the school record for "most three-point attempts by a player not named
Jacob Allen." Allen and
Corey Hicks are the only Villanovans to make more threes in a season.
