2002 AMATEUR DRAFT REPORT

DRAFT POSITION: 3

DRAFTEES
1. 1B Hugh Anderson (Avg//Brl/Brl) This 19-year-old 4 ½ star left-handed hitter also has “A” range.
2. SP Donovan Wade. (Avg/Avg/Good). Wade is 23 years old, and a 3 ½-star guy.
3. LF/RF Jose Melendez (Fair/Fair/Good). He’s got great range at both positions, and blinding speed. Being only 18, perhaps his hitting can catch up to everything else and make him a good option.
4. 2B/3B Bill Vanpelt (Fair/Avg/Fair). He’s a two-star guy with “B” range at 2b and 3b. Age 21.
5. SP/RP George Ruelas (Avg/Good/Avg). He’s a three-star guy, age 22. Lefty.
6. 2B/3B/SS Harry Muth (Poor/Good/Fair). 23 years old. Doubtful, but if other things could improve to match that “Good” power, who knows?
7. SS Randolph Sikorski (Fair/Poor/Avg). He’s 21, and has “A” range (with a .983 fldg pct.) at SS. He’s a left-handed hitter, so perhaps one day he could have value as a PH/defensive replacement.
