April

The Boston Red Sox have run out to a 3 game lead in the AL with a 19-9 record. The A’s and the Senators are just 3 back, while the Naps are struggling early at 14-14, and 5 games back. In the NL, the Reds are 20-8 and are in first by 1 game over the Cubs. The Phillies are just 3 back, while the Giants are 7 back early on.

Nap Rucker, of the defending Champion Giants threw a no hitter on April 14. He struck out 13 men and walked 3.

May

One team from each league have separated themselves from the pack already. In the AL, the Red Sox are 38-18 and lead the league by 8 games. In the NL, the Reds are 39-17 and are 6 games up.

June

The Red Sox and the Reds still maintain first place in their respective leagues. The Sox are 51-30 and are up by 5 games over the Naps. The Reds are a red hot 56-25 and are 5 games up on the Giants.

The All-Star game has now been won by the AL for 3 straight years. This time, they blanked the NL, 4-0. The AL’s SP, Joe Wood, pitched 3 perfect innings, striking out 3 to earn MVP honors.

July

Both second place teams caught fire in July. In the AL, the Red Sox still hold onto first place, but the Naps have made a run and are now only 2 games backs. In the NL, the Giants made a run, and the Reds collapsed, so the Giants have claimed first place with a 68-39 record, 1 game better than the Reds.

August

The Cleveland Naps have taken over first place thanks to an 11 game winning streak in August. They now lead the Red Sox by 3 games. In the NL, the Reds have regained first place over the Giants, but only by 1 game. The Phillies made a little run but are still 8 games out and it doesn’t look good for them to catch two teams.

September 14, 1914

Two teams look like they are on their way. The Naps have opened a 4 game lead over the Red Sox while the Reds are up 6 on the Giants.

September 28, 1914

The Cleveland Naps are returning to the World Series. They have clinched.

September 29, 1991

The Cincinnati Reds have clinched the NL and will face the Naps in the series.

League Outlook

The Naps lost over 10 million despite winning the title. They still have 10 million in reserves so it is not an immediate cause for concern.

The Boston Braves showed a loss again this year, and their reserves are starting to be eaten up.

The Giants had another loss and now they have no more money. Their payroll has been decreased significantly for next season though. We will monitor closely. If they are able to right their own ship, that would be for the best, however, if they fail to turn a profit, they will be targeted for relocation as our plans solidify to expand MLB westward.

The St. Louis Cardinals showed a large loss. With 2 teams in that town, it is hurting both of them. If one was to leave, the fan interest and support for the other would increase, which brings us to….

The St. Louis Browns are no more. As part of MLB’s westward expansion, we have sold the Browns to an investor in Los Angeles. The team will be moved immediately and renamed the Los Angeles Waves. This will not only benefit the Browns, but the Cardinals as well.

Free Agency, of Note

The LA Waves made an immediate splash in the FA market by signing SP Smokey Joe Wood, the best pitcher in the FA market. Wood has Championship pedigree from the Red Sox in 1912. The Waves are already being talked about as the up and coming team.

The Detroit Tigers have signed pitcher Red Ames. One of the best pitchers in the market this season.

Former Best Batter Award Winner Frank Schulte inked a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals.
