Conference Player of the Month: Ben Strevens, Barnet.
Conference Young Player of the Month: Matthew Shaw, Hayes.
Conference Manager of the Month: Richie Barker, AFC Wimbledon.

We offer a contract to Rochdale striker Kevin Braniff, his initial wage demands are pretty steep but we can offer him a £125 raise from his current wage. Braniff rejects the proposal on the following day. We withdraw from negotiations rather than push our wage budget.

6/3/04 - away vs Margate, 9th in the Conference. Richard Hammond scored twice for Margate to give us our seventh consecutive loss. A late consolation goal by Odejayi was a small comfort. Kanchelskis hurt his foot early in the game and has to get three weeks rest.

13/3/04 - at home vs Dag & Red, 4th in the Conference. Offiong drifted out on the right wing but was trapped against the sideline by three opponents. But a forward run by right back Darren Jones allowed him to chase Offiong's clearance, and Jones went unchallenged to score. We had another goal by Odejayi disallowed, but 1-0 was good enough for a rare win! Another right winger went down injured in this game - Russell will be out two weeks with a gashed leg.

16/3/04 - at home vs Aldershot, 1st in the Conference. With nothing to lose, I put us on hard tackling and attacking right from the start. We got the opening goal after middle defender Jamie Impey had dribbled to the opposite touchline to deliver a superb cross to Odejayi, who headed in the ball off the post. The Shots tied the score at 1-1, but two goals in the second half from Richard Offiong and one from left winger Daniel Allen gave us a great 4-1 win! Allen, however, strained his knee ligaments and will need some rest to heal.

24/3/04 - at home vs Morecambe, 3rd in the Conference. A tough, intense game where we got a bad break early as left winger Alex Sykes suffered a back strain and had to be substituted for 3rd stringer Alan Futcher. Nonetheless, we won 1-0 though a breakaway goal by Odejayi.

27/3/04 - away at Shrewsbury, 22nd in the Conference. Kanchelskis is back on the right wing and Futcher get his first start on the left wing. Offiong scores in the 22nd minute, and gets sent off in the 70th. Despite being a man down we hold on for our third straight win, 1-0. Kanchelskis returned too soon from his injury and had to go off in the 8th minute. He'll miss another month in rehab, but what's worse is that Paulinho also picked up an injury despite finishing the game. He's expected to be out for two months!

Offiong gets an automatic one-game suspension following his red card. We try to remedy the situation by bringing in some players available on free transfer, first a Turkish defensive midfielder, Ümit Özat, and then left midfielder Andy Sinton. He's 38, but we can't be too picky at this point, and he agreed to a cheap one-year deal. Özat on the other hand will have to await the decision on his work permit.

The next day we get striker Liam Hatch to agree on terms, and he joins the Rovers on a £8K transfer from Gravesend.
