Brewer was probably gone in two years when he hit 28, and he's been getting an increasing amount of criticism for the way his development seems to have leveled off. Pronger has apparently signed a five-year deal, and he gives the Oilers' D a better offensive presence than they'd get from Brewer and a better physical one than they would from Woywitka and/or Lynch.
