Screamin’ Seamen Youth Squad Re-Stocked, Produces More Defensive Talent

(AP – Chicago): After a rather lackluster performance towards the end of the season, the youth squad of the Screamin’ Seamen Football Club seems to have re-stocked for the upcoming Season 19 campaign. The same youth squad that has produced such fine talent as Keith Stubbs (B-team), Hyman Morey (traded to Middlesex Athletic), and Millard Meadows (sold), has struck defensive gold yet again.

The club announced earlier today that 18 year old Cameron McDonald has been promoted to the club’s B-team. Cameron could be the best pure defensive talent to come off of the club’s youth program so far, and is said to already rival William Brown in defensive abilities. An anonymous source within the SSFC organization stated that, with a bit of training and maturity, McDonald could very well challenge Chuck Scales for the club’s starting central defender position.

When asked if the promotion of McDonald would mean that another SSFC defender would be made eligible for transfer, team officials refused to comment.

Cameron McDonald

18 years old, passable (6) form, healthy.

A pleasant guy who is temperamental and honest.
Has disastrous (1) experience and wretched (2) leadership abilities.

Specialty: Head

Nationality: U.S.A.
Assessed Value: $100,000
Wage: $1,000/week

Stamina: Weak (4)
Playmaking: Weak (4)
Winger: Poor (3)
Scoring: Weak (4)
Goaltending: Disastrous (1)
Passing: Weak (4)
Defending: Solid (7)
Set Pieces: Poor (3)

While not exactly the 17 year old excellent lottery pull everyone is hoping for this week, I’m certainly happy with Cameron. I’m especially happy with his assessed value of $100,000. That leads me to believe that Cameron is actually close to an excellent (8) defensive rating. It looks like we’ve found the heir-apparent to Chuck Scales’ central defender position.
