One has a sexual connotation; the other refers to social status. Now, they aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, but Paris Hilton, for example, is a ho, while Britney Spears is trailer trash with ho-like tendencies. Except she hasn't fully developed in that area yet. Give her a few years.
