We get the ball back on our 26 with 3:08 to play, trailing 13-3 in the state championship game. Our offense goes to single back, 3 and 4 receiver sets. It's to the air, boys! Ingram hits #3 WR Byrne for a quick 7. Then he hits return specialist and #5 WR Youssef for a shocking 28. We switch back to 2WR set, and with W.C. looking for a short gain, blanketing Hackett, Ingram goes long to WR Tom Lewis! 37 yards and a touchdown! We're in range, now, trailing 13-10 with 2:22 to play.

With all of our timeouts and the 2-minute warning, coach elects to kick it away. A holding penalty on West Central pins them at their own 7. They try running. Nothing. We call timeout. On second down, they think they can fool us with a quick pass. A short pass is as good as a run, right?

Not when the CB jumps the pattern, baby! Interception! CB Julio Perez, an unsung, unspecial starter snags the ball at the 13-yard line and streaks untouched those 13 yards to the endzone!! Mar-Mac takes their first lead with 2 minutes to play, 17-13!

West Central's next possession goes nowhere on four passes. Turnover on downs to us. All we need is one first down, and this game is over. If we run it and get that 1st, we can kneel down for the rest. Here we go…

On first down, we put in second-string, big-play back Hunter Banks. West Central is looking for Eppbright up the middle and are surprised by a pitchout to Banks. Banks runs the sweep behind big senior guard Jimmy Stenerud. Big Jimmy gets the KRB, and Banks takes it 7 yards before going down. Timeout West Central.

2nd and 3 with 0:45 left. On the next play, J.R. Chapman hammers it 2 more yards. Timout West Central.

It comes down to this: 3rd and 1. If we make it, we win. If we don't, they'll call a timeout and force us to punt, giving them one more shot. What's your play call, readers? You know this team.
