1A: #8 Mar-Mac Dominates #10 Turkey Valley
CEDAR FALLS, IA—The matchup between Mar-Mac and Turkey Valley figured to feature two of the state's best interceptors, Mar-Mac's Hunter Flynn and Turkey Valley's Arnold Bernstein. Neither, however, got to show off his intercepting skills in Mar-Mac's impressive 35-14 victory.

For the Mar-Mac Spartans, 156 yards rushing, including a 38-yard TD run by FB Brant Eppbright kept the ball moving efficiently. State passing touchdown leader, Lincoln Ingram capped 3 long drives with TD passes, including one to state touchdown receiving leader, sophomore tight end, Seth Hackett. The Spartan defense was led by sophomore defensive end, Kennedy Eisenbraun, who recorded 2.5 sacks and a pair of hurries.

The Turkey Valley Trojans, however, without starting QB Chris Collier, struggled to sustain drives. Ten penalties (to Mar-Mac's 1), further killed momentum.

The Trojans finish the season with a 12-6 record, while #8 Mar-Mac will face #3 Guttenberg in the state semi-final next Saturday.
