#2 Spartans Roll Over Defending Champs
McGREGOR, IA—The Mar-Mac Spartans played like state champions in their crushing defeat of last year's champs, a 34-10 victory Friday night. On their first possession, the Spartans' FB Brant Eppbright and QB Lincoln Ingram engineered a 75-yard drive that ended in a touchdown pass to TE Seth Hackett. It was the first of 3 touchdown receptions on the night for the Spartans' sophomore star receiver.

In the second quarter, following a North Winn field goal, Spartan receiver Korey Youssef took the kickoff at the 18 and sprinted 82 yards for the touchdown. After North Winn stalled again, Mar-Mac OT Tito Sampson delivered a pair of crushing blocks on successive plays, springing Spartan runners for big gains and setting up Seth Hackett's second TD grab.

At the half, the score was Mar-Mac 24, North Winn 3. The Mustangs' spirits never recovered.

Mar-Mac's first drive of the second half resulted in yet another Seth Hackett touchdown, and a pair of interceptions by Spartan safety Hunter Flynn (his 8th and 9th of the year) sealed North Winn's fate.
