Healthy Spartans Bury Cresco-ND
McGREGOR, IA—The return of defensive captain Roosevelt Clements to Mar-Mac's roster ushered in doom for the Cresco-Notre Dame Crusaders. Cresco only managed 10 first downs in a dominating, 38-6 victory for the Spartans.

The game stayed close until four minutes short of halftime, when Mar-Mac HB J.R. Chapman blasted up the middle for a 23-yard gain. Chapman ran twice more on the drive, including a 2-yard TD plunge that began Mar-Mac's pull away, extending the lead to 17-0. At the opening of the third, Mar-Mac pick artist Hunter Flynn intercepted the ball, and HB Chapman punched in another touchdown two plays later. On their next possession, Mar-Mac turned to QB Lincoln Ingram, who found TE phenom Seth Hackett for a touchdown that put Mar-Mac up, 31-3.

On their way to victory, Lincoln Ingram posted 308 yards passing, HB J.R. Chapman ran for 50 and two scores, TE Seth Hackett caught his 8th touchdown, Hunter Flynn caught his 7th INT, Roosevelt Clements led the team with 6 tackles, sophomore DT Morris Strickland recorded 2 sacks, and RT Tito Sampson, making his first start of the year, impressed with 3 key blocks in crucial situations. Continuing their 3rd down dominance, the Spartans were 8-for-15 on third downs.

Next week, the #2 Spartans face the defending state champs, the North Winn Mustangs. A win for the Spartans would be huge in our quest for the Upper Mississippi Valley Conference title.
