Week 7: Valley of Elgin Tigers

North Iowa Times
Spartan Stars Shine in Victory
McGREGOR, IA—The return of star QB Lincoln Ingram to the lineup charged the Mar-Mac Spartans to a 45-17 victory over the Valley of Elgin Tigers Friday night. Ingram threw for 3 touchdown passes in the rout, but he was only one of the Spartan players who contributed a huge game for his team. Sensational sophomore tight end Seth Hackett caught 5 passes for 122 yards, including Ingram's first two touchdowns, one of which was a deep bomb that went for 76 yards. Mar-Mac's senior fullback, Brant Eppbright also posted big numbers, including a 75-yard scamper to paydirt. Halfback Hunter Banks also broke a big run, a 45-yard touchdown sprint in the third quarter that broke a 17-all tie and put Mar-Mac up for good.

Defensively for the Spartans, safety Hunter Flynn led the team in tackles, added yet another interception—his sixth of the year—which he ran back 54 yards before being tackled, and sacked Valley QB Jamal Gaylor.

The impressive victory enabled the Spartans to return to the top 10 in the state's rankings.
